Ashanti Douglas is also known as Ashanti and was born in Glen Cove New York United States 13 October 1980. She is an American songwriter, singer and actress. Ashanti's self-titled debut album was released in 2002 through Irv Gotti's Murder Inc. record label. The Declaration fourth studio album was out on June 3rd, 2008. On the 16th October Hey Baby (After the Club) was released on radio stations as well as digital channels. She starred in the film Christmas in the City and as Latasha of Montclair's character in Army Wives. Her song Rock wit U was sampled by British rapper Aitch for his track Baby on the 10th of March 2022.
